The Angel’s Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon comes out today (June 16th).  If you’d like an advance reader’s copy of this book, enter in the comments below by telling us the best book published in 2009 that you’ve read so far.  If you haven’t read any 2009 books, just state the 2009 book that you’re most interested in reading.

  3. The only 2009 published book that I have read so far was The Yankee Years by Joe Torre, which was interesting to say the least.

  4. The best book I’ve read that was published in 2009 is One Second After by William R. Forstchen. It’s been very highly recommended by everyone in my family.

  9. The only book published in 2009 that I read is Burnt Shadows, but so far I don’t like it that much. The book published this year that I want to read the most is probably Nocturnes by Kazuo Ishiguro, and probably this one too :)

  20. That’s really tough because I’ve read some really fun books so far this year. My favorite historical fiction book that was published this year was Galway Bay by Mary Pat Kelly.

  23. Can’t wait for Paul Auster’s Invisible coming in November! Haven’t yet read The Angel’s Game, finishing The Shadow of the Wind first. Best book so far isn’t a novel, it’s A Lucky Boy by Thomas Buergenthal, but I also liked Death in Spring by Mircea Rodereda. Also looking forward to Gourmet Rhapsody by Muriel Barbery. (Have my French copy on order now, since I can’t wait for the English)

  24. Hmmm. I have read a a couple of great books that it is hard to pick one. I will have to go with The Traitors Wife by Susan Higginbotham.

  25. My favorite book that I read this year was The Gargoyle. I fell in love with this book. Shadow of the Wind is a book that I will re-read, I enjoyed it that much, and have been looking forward to reading The Angels Game. I would love to win this book.

  26. Not sure if I’ve read a 2009 book so far this year; I’m looking forward to the fall release of Separate Country by Robert Hicks. I love American Civil War fiction.
